Lindsy Marshall Stephenson, Sr. died August 18, 2010. He was the son of the late Ingham S. and Lula Pleasant Stephenson, and the grandson of the late John Quincy and Etta Britt Stephenson and Daniel Isiah and Sarah Woodell Pleasant. A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel in Angier. Burial followed at Harnett Memorial Park in Lillington. He was preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Stephenson Guy and her husband Norwood Guy, and three brothers, John B. Stephenson, Wade Stephenson and Julian Stephenson. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Mary Thorpe Stephenson of Angier; daughter and husband, Linda and Coloman Kondorossy of New Jersey; sons, Gary Stephenson and wife Christine of Colorado, Lindsy Jr. of New Jersey, and Randy and wife Isabelle of New Jersey, 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, David Stephenson and wife Euba of Angier, A.D. Stephenson and wife Janet of Garner, and two sisters, Leola Stephenson, and Sue Nooney and husband Ray of Angier. Two sisters-in-law, Agatha Stephenson of Coats, Rebecca Stephenson of Rural Hall and Jennie Stephenson Denning of Coats and 27 nieces and nephews. The family received friends and relatives Saturday, August 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of Sue and Ray Nooney in Angier.
