Sept. 11, 2001 is a day that will live forever in the hearts and minds of every American. A total of 411 public safety personnel lost their lives that day. In all, 2977 victims were killed in the terrorist attacks.

In remembrance of this historic day, Characters Quarters, a local family owned and operated establishment, is hosting a fundraiser on Saturday, September 11th 2010 for Garner first responders. The event, held at 1506 Highway 70 West, is scheduled to kick off at noon and run until 6pm. Local public safety, including Garner Volunteer Fire Department, Garner Police Department, and Garner EMS, will be on hand with displays and demonstrations.

The fundraiser will feature live music from the Southern Christian Rock and Praise band,

kid’s moonbounce, social cornhole tournaments, and much more. In addition to these family friendly events, there will be door prizes, 50/50 raffles, and other donated items raffled off. All proceeds from the raffles and sales that day will benefit Garner area public safety organizations.
