Gov. Bev Perdue appointed Margaret Eagles to the District Court bench for the 10th Judicial District for Wake County. Eagles will be appointed to the seat created by the General Assembly in 2007.

“Margaret Eagles’ experience as a private practitioner and her work as an Assistant Attorney General will serve her well on the District Court bench and she was recognized by her peers as a skilled practitioner,” Perdue said. “Her legal knowledge and training make her an excellent addition to the 10th Judicial District Court and she will serve the citizens of Wake County well.”

Eagles began her legal career as a judicial clerk to North Carolina Supreme Court Justice George L. Wainwright. She was an Assistant Attorney General in the Environment Division at the North Carolina Department of Justice from 2001 to 2004. Currently, she is an Associate at Larcade & Heiskell, PLLC, in Raleigh, where she practices civil defense in Federal and State courts throughout Central and Eastern North Carolina and has litigated many trials in the Superior and District Courts of North Carolina. Margaret has been a leader in her community having served as a member of numerous civic and professional organizations in Wake County.

Eagles earned her undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University in 1995. She received her law degree from the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, Campbell University in 2000.
