Fuquay-Varina Police discovered the work of vandals Downtown at 1:30 a.m. Monday morning. Windows of several shops on Main Steet had been broken or damaged by what police suspect to have been a BB gun. Shops such as Merle Norman received the most damage. The window in a vacant shop was shattered. Other stores such as Shoppes on Main, Walt’s Guitars, Custom Framing, Lazy Lion Books and Elmos received minor damage. No thefts or injuries were reported. Police said incidents of vandalism like this usually go down when schools are back in session.
